GARY REEDER CUSTOM GUNS is happy to announce a new
series and a first for us, a new semi auto. Our new 45 Auto was given
birth by gun writer Gary Paul Johnston several years ago as the 1*, in
normal terms ONE ASTERISK, which of course is another play on words
because you only have ONE ASS TO RISK. Gary had asked us to build
a semi auto similar to one we built back in 1995 and had on display at
the Safari Club Gun Show that year. We did and it's the cover gun
on the February 2003 Combat Handguns. |

Our new ONE ASTERISK is an
unusual 45 auto and can be built on your gun or on ours. Our gun
started out as a standard stainless Combat Commander. All the
internal workings have been replaced and polished, tuned parts and
several new features have been added. |

We have installed a smooth feeling and perfect
fitting beavertail grip safety, lightweight trigger, Novak front and
rear low profile sights, extended safety and slide release, and
something very unusual in a 45 auto, a Lexan left grip that lets you see
immediately how many rounds you have left in a tight situation.
The opposite side sports a checkered walnut panel. At the 1995 SCI show
our display gun had a rounded butt that was part of our Gunfighter Grip
series. |

It is very similar to Ed Brown Bobtail feature only a bit
more round. This lets the gun sit deeper in the hand and makes offhand
shooting much more accurate. We have slicked up everything inside
the gun and given it a full action job.

This is the Satin Black Chromex version. |
The barrel has a small notch cut
into the rear of it to show you at a glance if it is loaded plus the top
of the barrel is fully jeweled. This beauty is topped off with the
ONE ASTERISK logo on both sides. Remember, it's always best to be
sure when you only have ONE ASS TO RISK. As always one third
down and we begin work on your new ONE ASTERISK. |
